Where the name comes from
Aaliechtli
Aaliechtli has its origin in the ancestral light. The oil lamp burns calmly, is refilled rather than replaced and stays the same piece for years.
A light that is refilled instead of replaced.
The oil lamp is the origin of Aaliechtli. Oil and wick burn calmly and for a long time, and the glass stays. Always use a fireproof surface, well away from anything that could catch fire.
- Schälleli
- The mouth-blown glass bowl holds the oil and the wick and stands safely on a level, fireproof surface.
- Wick
- Wicks (Döchtli) are bought separately. A neatly trimmed wick burns more calmly and produces less soot.
- Glas-Blüemli
- Mouth-blown glass flowers that scatter the light. Each one is a one-of-a-kind piece with its own shape.
