Butterfly 6 x 14

The Aaliechtli goes back to the ancestors' light that used to burn when a family member had died. Today it is lit when someone faces an exam, a journey or a difficult time, as a sign that you are thinking of that person. The mouth-blown glass bowl measures about 14 cm and carries a heart, an angel, a bird, a butterfly or a flower, as you choose; it runs on water, cooking oil, a float and a wick. Each Schälleli is a one-of-a-kind piece; this one is sold, but similar versions can be requested.
